• Restaurante Pensao FLAVIO, Chaves, Portugal Best Restaurant EVER!!

    Restaurante Pensao Flavio
I sometimes, not often enough, write reviews on tripadvisor and have never before given a 5 (their top rating) as I thought that no matter how good it was, if I give a 5 then I have nowhere to go if I find THE best restaurant. Restaurante Pensao FLAVIO gets a 5 from me because it is THE best restaurant I have ever been to.

  • Chaves, Northern Portugal

    Chaves
Chaves is another city Joerg and I have fallen in love with. It has loads to see and do, has THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER (my next post) as well as being picturesque and photogenic all in one. I look forward to visiting it again sometime.

  • No-knead Bread with Corn

    Corn bread
This is an incredibly quick and easy bread with a lot of wow factor. People tend to be in awe of someone who can bake bread, but this is as easy as making a cup of tea and about as quick to prepare.

  • Restaurant Miranda Marlene, Bragança, Portugal

    Collard greens soup Bragança
We are always on the lookout for local, traditional restaurants where we tend to be the only foreigners and the food is rustic but super. Tourist destinations where the food has been adapted to the European palette, i.e. same old same old, is not what we want. And we ticked all the boxed with Miranda Marlene.

  • Bragança, northern Portugal

    Bragança, northern Portugal
     Bragança
Joerg and I aren’t city people, but we both loved our stay in Bragança and will definitely go back there again. The city has also cleverly provided a huge free parking area for campers with trees and green areas, so not just a piece of tarmac. And it’s right next to the castle so beautiful and accessible to the city at the same time. Awesome.

  • On the road again! Northern Spain

    Ozaeta Dam and National Park
So finally after a 7 month break, I’m back to blogging!! Life just got in the way, sigh. We are now back on the road and I have every intention of boring you with all the details about our fantastic adventures, so feel free to come along for the ride if you’d like to.
