El Greco Restaurant
If you’re looking for a great place to eat in Swabia, then look no further. If you’re looking for great friendly service, then you definitely need to look no further. We were made to feel so welcome I almost didn’t leave (they do however prefer that you leave at some point…)

Restaurant Review
4 Rue de L'esquile, 31000 Toulouse, France
Us gals do a lunch once a month and we were real happy when Debs discovered an Indian Resto in the deep south of France. (Where is the dodgy accent coming from one asks?) She'd been on Trip Advisor (where I too add my 5 pence) and it had a great rating so we trekked around Toulouse till we found it and we were jolly glad to have done so.
The Black Rabbit Restaurant, Arundel, West Sussex, England
This restaurant is set on the banks of the River Arun with magnificent views of Arundel Castle. It's a beautiful place to dine anytime of the year. I've been in the summer and the winter and loved both times. In winter there's the fireplace ambiance and in the summer the lovely outside seating area on the riverbank.
La Cabane Restaurant, Quarteira, Portugal
As I mentioned in my last post, it was Frank's 60th birthday on Valentine's Day and he very kindly invited us, Anja and Micha, and his lovely partner, Conny, for dinner at the La Cabane Restaurant. I think it's super to have your birthday on such a special day – everyone is in love and happy and the restaurants put on special menus just for you...
Garragem Restaurant in Monte Gordo, Portugal
We'd actually decided to eat at O Tapas, but alas (or maybe thankfully), O Tapas is closed on a Monday so lunch with Ronaldo was out of the question. (See post http://www.acookonthefunnyside.com/content/lunch-ronaldo ) Just as an aside, did you see that he scored 2 of the 6 goals his team got at the weekend? Me either, but Anja told me and I wanted to look smart. And no, I don't know what team he plays for...
Lunch with Ronaldo
So maybe he wasn't there in person on this particular day, but he could come in at any time as this is a restaurant he regularly frequents. Well, that is if the photos are anything to go by. His face is plastered across the walls, arm in arm with the owner, who really was there. And it's no wonder Ronaldo loves this place 'cos this restaurant rocks!
The Steam Packet in Littlehampton
I continue with the previously mentioned wonderful aunt and uncle and a wonderful meal we had at a little pub restaurant in their hometown of Littlehampton. It's downtown on the banks of the Arun River and is really super. English pubs have so much atmosphere – it's like being at home, but with staff. I love it.
Another lunch at Brasserie Capoul
My wonderful aunty Wendles and uncle Peter stayed with us this last week for another memorable holiday – we definitely won’t forget The Energiser Bunny dancing at The Husbands 50th birthday party! Thank you Peter for getting everyone onto the dance floor. My great mate, Deirdre, said the dancing looked like a scene from Jungle Book…I think you had to have been there.
Crompton´s At the Olive Branch
If you want to find this restaurant, just look for the “split testicle”, said my uncle. I don't actually think that that was the artists original idea, but now I can't look at it and see the Cosmic shape that it's supposed to be. Beautiful it is. It is in honor of Percy Bysshe Shelley, a romantic poet who was born in this very town of Horsham, and who died in the Kingdom of Sardinia (later Italy). I am so smart.
The View Restaurant, Hove, England
My mother recently had her 65th birthday and so I happily flew over to England to spend it with her and my Dad. They are in the deevine Victoria Nursing Home and the chef made a wonderful birthday cake for her, with candles and the whole 9 yards. Then my aunty Wendles and my uncle Peter organized a wheelchair accepting van and we took them down to the Hove beachfront for a walk/push and a meal.
