Picture Perfect Portugal, Part 1

A fishing boat fishing near the beach
Just in case you haven’t guessed, I’m a huge fan of Portugal. The Husband too, of course. We love the countryside, the seaside, the people, the food, the air, just plain everything. So I am going to post a few photos from around here so that you too can fall in love with Portugal.

St. Petersburg Football Team visits (me in) Portugal

Who is this Russian player?
I finally realised today that I’m getting old. I know what you’re thinking, only today? Allow me to explain. I noticed that the local restaurant was preparing for a big event and I noticed lots of young men arriving at around half twelve, one o’clock. But instead of rushing over and stalking them, I decided to stay sitting in my sun lounger, read my book and let The Husband bring me coffee. Groan.

Perfect Place to Park in Portugal

Rio Guadian between Spain and Portugal
Now this is what I call living the good life. We love the area along the Guadiana River which forms the border between Spain and Portugal. We found this beautiful spot quite by accident and are in awe of the beauty that surrounds us.

Passion for Portugal

Laranjeiras mountains
I love Portugal! J’aime Portugal! Ich liebe Portugal! The incredible blue skies, the never ending sandy beaches, the deevine food and last, but certainly not least, the amazing Portuguese people. We’ve arrived once again at our second home, Portugal and are thrilled to be here.

Happy New Year!

May 2016 bring all the joy and happiness you do or don’t deserve! What would a New Year be without New Years Resolutions and I have no intention of changing this (useless) tradition. So I aspire to write many, many posts this year…don’t hold your breath, it could be dangerous! No, no, that’s not getting into the New Years spirit! I WILL WRITE. Now that’s more like it.

A sad day

My sincere condolences to all the families and friends lost in the terrible attack in Paris last night. It's unbelievable what the human species is capabale of doing. The wonderful student, Mathilde, told us today that everyone was lighting a candle in their windows today to show solidarity, so we have done the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Noble November

Pyrenees from our house
We have been having the most magnificent November I've ever had here in France weatherwise and have had magnificent views of the Pyrenees. This is what it looked like a couple of days ago.

Visited by Aliens…looking for pizza

Stefan’s UFO a.k.a. helicopter
Today you will be meeting two wonderful “Aliens”, Anja and Stefan (two great German campervan friends), a wonderful student Capucine (beautiful name for a beautiful girl who we called Cappuccino all week!) and the always wonderful friend, Deirdre, who all came for a Pizza Night on my birthday the 28th of October. Yes, it was yesterday and you are still welcome to send gifts!

Who said the sun never shines in England?

Angmering Estate
Some people seem to think that it always rains in England. Silly people. I always have good weather when I'm there, except when it rains...

Beautiful Bosham

The Husband and I were lucky enough to spend some time in England in April with my lovely parents and aunt and uncle. Our luck increased when the French Air traffic controllers went on strike and we had to harass my poor aunt and uncle with 3 more days in their home. Thanks Peter and Wendles for putting up with us yet again!
