Nectarines with Honey and Strawberry Cobbles/Biscuits

Nectarines and cobbles
I’ve been cooking up a storm the last month or two, but have not gotten around to telling you about it. But today’s the day!! I made this for the wonderful Tante Inge and Onkel Günter last week and they loved it and asked for the recipe – always a good sign. They drove 4 hours to come and celebrate Karl’s 84th birthday (my father-in-law) – thanks for coming!

Andy’s Awesome 3-ingredient Dessert

Andy’s dessert
Let me start off by saying that this is no dessert for the faint hearted. This is a dessert for toughies, not sissies. Well, if you can even call it a dessert… But let me first start by introducing you to our awesome mates, Andy and Annie.

Almond pudding with Liz and Chris for New Year

Frosty start to 2017
I know it was 2 weeks ago, but I just have to tell you about the wonderful New Years Eve we had and the awesome food we ate. Us 4 had a super party and Liz made a magnificent 5 course meal that would put many a restaurant to shame and will leave you wishing she was a friend of yours too!

Olhão

(Recipe for Churros at the end of the post)
Fishing boat in Olhao harbour
Olhão is another beautiful market town on our Portuguese adventure route. It has stunning market buildings and a great market. The inside market is open every day, but the outside market is only there on Saturdays. Both are well worth visiting.

Lemon Teacake / Bread

Lemon Tea Cake
You met my friend Carola previously in the Beef Stew post and she returns today with yet another great recipe, this time for an English cake. This is so soft and juicy and keeps so well, you just have to love it.

Agathe's Chocolate Dessert

Today's recipe: Chocolate Molten Pots
The unbaked pudding
Agathe is a wonderful French student who has stayed with us for several weeks over the last couple of years. We thoroughly enjoy having her stay with us and hope she will continue to visit us for years to come. Agathe made these delicious chocolate desserts for us during one of her stays and we now make them regularly. She very kindly gave me the recipe and I have decided to share it with you because they are so good ! Its in French too, so you too can improve your language skills...

Crema Catalana

Joerg atop Mojacar tower
Today's recipe: Creme Catalan
Catalan Custard with burnt sugar topping

Greetings from a sunny and warm place in Andalucia, Spain. We are once again underway in our camper van and are lapping up the sunshine in our European “down under”. It's been slightly more breezy (up to 60 knots of wind...that's 100km for you non-sailors) and rainy at times, but otherwise sunshine and blue skies. What more can you ask for? A recipe you say. Cheeky monkey.
