The Beach Break Café, coffee shop and take-away
My divine Aunty Ann (you’ll meet her and Uncle Peter in the next post) took Joerg and I to a wonderful cafe restaurant at the beach. This place has everything going for it: the food is great, the service is great and its position is great. Oh yes, and its prices are great too. What’s not to love?!
The Beach Break Café is situated under beautiful trees with a big car park and is just a minutes walk, through more beautiful trees, from the beach. We sat outside and enjoyed our meal in the dappled light.
All our meals were super. Joerg and I are trying to eat a High Fat Low Carb diet, and South Africa is definitely geared for this. Almost all restaurants cater for the no-carbers among us, and The Beach Break café is no exception. The food is fresh and deeelicious and I can really recommend visiting this lovely restaurant.
Beach Break Banting Burger
Beef pattie or chicken breast served on sautéed mushrooms with a side salad R44 (€ 2.60)
Or Mutton pattie R48 (€2.80)
For those of you unfamiliar with Banting, it’s a term used when you follow a Low Carb diet. Thomas Banting was heavily obese and lost huge amounts of weight (and kept it off) eating a low carb diet.
